- Published geographic scope
Individual accounts require residence in Japan and a domestic bank account. Residents of Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland cannot open an account through this process.
Official source - Last checked
Availability refers to ordinary individual accounts at the named service. Residence, citizenship, identity checks, local bank requirements and sanctions can change eligibility. A country absent from a restriction list is not treated as confirmed support.
How the service works
Bitbank offers trading workflows where a dealer quote and an exchange order book must be distinguished. Its exchange documentation explains maker orders and post-only controls, including BTC/JPY examples. A limit order does not necessarily receive maker treatment if it immediately matches existing liquidity.
- Holding and withdrawal model
- Exchange-held balance; withdrawals on supported networks
- Cost components
- Dealer spread or exchange maker/taker fees; separate transfer costs
- Useful starting point
- Eligible users comparing JPY dealer quotes with limit orders
What determines your cost
A dealer quote incorporates a spread, while exchange execution follows maker and taker conditions. Comparing only an explicit commission can therefore miss the larger price difference. Yen funding, crypto withdrawal charges and transfer minimums should be checked separately.
When to consider it
Choose the intended interface and verify account eligibility for the yen funding route. Compare executable prices for the same size. If relying on maker pricing, understand the post-only control and the possibility that an order remains unfilled.
