Official source - Last checked
Availability refers to ordinary individual accounts at the named service. Residence, citizenship, identity checks, local bank requirements and sanctions can change eligibility. A country absent from a restriction list is not treated as confirmed support.
How the service works
Bitfinex offers spot, margin, derivatives and OTC trading. Its margin documentation describes borrowing through a peer-to-peer funding market. The source and duration of that funding are separate from the order used to open or close the position.
- Holding and withdrawal model
- Exchange-held balance; withdrawals on supported networks
- Cost components
- Current execution policy plus peer funding, bank and withdrawal charges
- Useful starting point
- Advanced traders comparing borrowing and complete settlement costs
What determines your cost
The current fee guide reports removal of maker and taker fees for covered trading products from December 2025. This does not make every operation free: borrowing, funding-related services, bank transfers and crypto withdrawals retain their own conditions and charges.
When to consider it
Use the current schedule rather than an older comparison quoting historical execution rates. For margin, include the borrowing arrangement and holding period. For a bank-funded spot purchase, compare the total cost after deposit, conversion and withdrawal minimums.
