The practical choice
Treat identity verification, payment and trading as separate steps. A Danish-language app or MitID registration does not establish that DKK funding, a particular payment app or your intended withdrawal is available on every account.
Read the comparisonAt a glance
| What matters | Availability and payment terms | Costs to compare |
|---|---|---|
| DKK bank funding | Confirm the account accepts DKK and use its current transfer instructions. | Compare bank processing, account-crediting and later payout conditions. |
| Card or payment-app purchase | Verify the named payment method for the specific provider and account. | Inspect the quoted asset amount, payment costs and any withdrawal restrictions. |
| DKK-to-EUR funding | Obtain an actual currency-conversion quote and verify the EUR transfer details. | Add bank FX and transfer charges before comparing exchange trading costs. |
This is a comparison of published provider documents, not a hands-on test or a security audit. Sources and the review date are listed below. Fees, features and eligibility can change; check the provider's current terms and your account before acting. How this comparison was prepared
A buyer in Denmark may encounter DKK funding at a local-facing service or EUR funding at an international exchange. These routes can involve different bank charges, currency conversion and purchase interfaces. A fair comparison starts with the same DKK budget and the same asset and destination.
The process below uses official information checked on 30 October 2026. It is a practical checklist, not a current ranking or confirmation of individual eligibility. Mertiva has not performed a hands-on account, funding or withdrawal test.
Verify who supplies the Danish service
Finanstilsynet publishes the MiCA rules and its supervisory practice for crypto-asset services. Check the contracting company's exact name and permitted service in the relevant official information, including the ESMA register where applicable. A brand, an app listing and an authorisation are different things. Regulatory status does not make the investment risk-free or confirm that every product of the brand is available to you.
Keep MitID separate from DKK funding
Firi's Danish instructions describe registration with MitID and DKK deposits, including bank transfers. This is a documented provider example, not a general rule for Danish exchanges. MitID verifies identity; it is not the payment itself. Likewise, a search for MobilePay does not establish support at a particular provider. Confirm the exact method, account requirements and recipient details instead of inferring them from familiar Danish names.
Include conversion and the purchase interface
For an EUR-funded account, compare the bank's actual DKK-to-EUR quote with any conversion offered inside the service. Record the credited amount, order type, execution price and fee. A simple buy interface can have a different pricing structure from an order book. A limit order that executes immediately can still take liquidity. Compare complete previews for the same amount, and do not count a charge again when the preview already includes it.
Compare the complete funding route with the platform-cost checklist before choosing a service or payment method.
Plan the bank payout or wallet transfer before buying
Check payout currencies, bank-account ownership requirements, minimums and possible holds. For an on-chain withdrawal, verify the asset and network supported by the receiving wallet, not only its name or symbol. The exchange's withdrawal charge is not necessarily the same as the network fee. Protect the recovery material and reject any request to share it; a legitimate-looking message can still be phishing.
Keep Danish records without assuming gains and losses cancel
Save each trade, fee, time and DKK valuation. Skattestyrelsen's guidance treats gains and losses separately and gives specific instructions for reporting them; do not replace that process with one net profit number from a trading app. The relevant tax rules depend on residence and the type of asset or transaction. Consult the current official guidance, particularly for swaps, stablecoins or other products outside an ordinary spot purchase.
A practical checklist
- Match the legal entity with its specific service.
- Verify whether the funded account uses DKK or EUR.
- Treat MitID and payment-method support as separate checks.
- Compare the final asset quantity and all quoted charges.
- Check the actual bank-payout or wallet-withdrawal route.
- Retain individual trades, fees and DKK valuations.
Common questions
Does MitID registration mean an exchange supports MobilePay?
No. Identity verification and payment-method support are different features. Verify the payment option directly for your account.
Is an EUR account automatically more expensive?
No. The result depends on the actual conversion, funding, execution and withdrawal costs. Compare the same total DKK budget and destination.
Can I use a simple profit calculator as my Danish tax return?
No. A trading illustration does not establish Danish tax treatment or reporting. Follow Skattestyrelsen's current transaction-specific guidance.
