Key facts

  • The reported activity covers January–June 2026.
  • Binance estimates US$4.6 billion in potential losses prevented.
  • The figures are company-reported, not an independent audit.

A new publication about earlier activity

Binance published a security overview on October 7, repeating its estimate that risk systems helped protect more than eight million users during the first half of 2026. The company puts potential losses prevented at approximately US$4.6 billion. Those numbers concern estimated avoided harm, not customer reimbursements.

The update also describes layered verification and withdrawal restrictions. Its discussion of the SAFU emergency reserve says compensation may be provided in certain incidents; it should not be interpreted as a blanket guarantee for every loss.

What the supporting account adds

A September 15 technical overview describes more than 100 AI models and says automated systems inform 80–90% of real-time risk decisions, with specialists handling exceptions. Binance explains that different models inspect payment evidence, identity checks, messages and transaction activity.

Both publications come from the same company. They provide a dated account of its claimed controls and results, but do not supply an independent audit or a comparison against other exchanges. The useful takeaway is the scope and period of the report, together with the continuing need to evaluate individual transfers and account settings.
